What are cookies?

A cookie is a small file or piece of information that a website can store in a user’s browser or device. Similar technologies may also be used to remember preferences, maintain technical functions or measure use of a service.

Current Dog Friends configuration

The HTML version of Dog Friends does not include WordPress, Google Analytics, advertising pixels, comments, forms or a cookie-based consent manager. The public code is designed not to set first-party analytics or advertising cookies.

For this reason, as long as this configuration remains in place and a technical check of the production environment does not detect non-essential cookies, there is no need to display a cookie acceptance/rejection banner.

What are cookies used for?

Under the intended configuration, Dog Friends does not use first-party cookies for advertising, profiling or analytics. Hosting or strictly technical functions may use mechanisms required for security or service delivery; this will be checked in production and this policy will be updated if the situation changes.

What are cookies not used for?

Dog Friends does not use cookies from its static code to create commercial profiles, display personalised advertising or store sensitive personally identifying information.

External services and links

The website may contain links to external services such as Flickr, social networks or other resources. The external provider is contacted only when the user chooses to follow the link. Once the external service is visited, that provider may use its own cookies in accordance with its own policy.

How can cookie use be avoided?

Users can configure their browser to block or limit cookies, receive warnings before cookies are stored, or delete existing cookies. Blocking technical cookies on other websites may affect some of their functions.

How do I disable and delete cookies?

Cookie management is handled from the browser settings. In the most common browsers it is usually found under sections such asPrivacy,Security,CookiesorSite data. From there you can block cookies, delete them generally or remove only those belonging to a specific domain.

  • Google Chrome:Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies / Site data.
  • Microsoft Edge:Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
  • Mozilla Firefox:Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
  • Safari:Settings/Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.

The exact names of the options may vary depending on the browser version and device.

Changes to this policy

If Dog Friends adds analytics, embedded content, advertising or any technology requiring consent in the future, the Cookie Policy and, where appropriate, the consent mechanism will be updated before those functions are activated.

Development environment:before WordPress is definitively replaced, a final check will be carried out on the production domain to verify the cookies actually generated by the server and by the resources loaded.
